MEET EMILY RUSSELL

“I enjoy assisting people gain awareness of their own individual creativity in life.”

From a collaborative strengths-based approach, I empower individuals and help to discover potential solutions to current problems they are facing.

My training is rooted in Psychodynamic theory that supports an understanding of emotional experiences affecting behavior and states of mind. I infuse this understanding with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to provide specific tools for recognizing and potentially modifying cognitive patterns causing negative emotions.

I am trained in four evidence-based practices to treat individuals and families impacted by trauma or major life stressors. I have extensive training in treating children and families, and use attachment theory as a basis for understanding relationships.

My relational approach incorporates compassion, intuition, and humor, while I appreciate the interaction of mind, body, and spirit within a human experience. I believe everyone has their own innate awareness and I see myself as a facilitator in the process understanding what is supporting growth versus negatively impacting life circumstances.

I take great pride in the work I do collaboratively with individuals and regularly seek training to continue to expand my practice.
